Nestled on Quaker Hill, Ms. DiLorenzo’s “barn” has hosted many Shakespeare Club events. Her love for hosting at this impressive venue is evident. She was happy to report, “It had always been a dream of mine to renovate a barn...

Change is never easy. However, when Michael Alexander took over the helm of the Pawling Resource Center last December following the departure of former executive director Olga Brandenberger to care for family in Florida, change was inevitable, and Michael made the transition smooth…and yes, easy. When speaking to Michael, it would be hard to miss the hint of a southern drawl in his speech. Although he grew up in Georgia, Michael’s deepest roots are right here...

Have you ever noticed that, on fair-weather Wednesday afternoons in the summer,  beautiful antique cars start appearing in the Village of Pawling?  That’s the weekly Car Cruise of the Harlem Valley Car Club, which is held in the parking lot of Hudson Valley Plastics.  The club reached out to us recently to tell us about what they’re up to, and we were eager to learn more.           The club was founded in early 2008 by Paul Kaufman...

Did you know that statins, cholesterol reducing prescription medications, block the production of a vital health protector and energy transport enzyme in every single cell in our bodies? If you are taking one of the prescribed statins, such as Atorvastatin (Lipitor), Rosuvastatin (Crestor), Simvastatin (Zocor), and Pravastatin, a drug prescribed to children,  you are at a risk of being deficient in Ubiquinol or Coenzyme Q10. In the United States, statins are one of the most prescribed medicines, over...

Estate planning helps ensure that your assets will be managed and distributed according to your wishes.        Estate planning creates a legal framework to manage assets in the event of incapacity or death and should incorporate tax planning to protect income and preserve assets. A recent article from The Street, “Don’t Be a Grasshopper: The Importance of Proactive Tax and Estate Planning,” references Aesop’s fable, “The Ant and the Grasshopper.” The hard-working ants in this fable engage...

Have you heard about Celestial Touch Reiki and Readings? Laura Schek, an Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master and Psychic Medium, opened her practice at 7 Arch Street in the Village of Pawling nine years ago this December.  When we heard about this milestone, we reached out to Laura to learn more about her business and history in Pawling. Laura graciously invited us to visit her location on Arch Street to talk a little bit about the services she offers her...
