As so many of you know, the Smith Johnson Scout Reservation (SJSR) hosted our annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser last month. We know it was a busy weekend for many, so we appreciate how many people attended the event. Our scouts ended up serving nearly 120 spaghetti dinner meals, with proceeds going toward upkeep of our Pawling Scout Cabin.

For those who aren’t familiar, the SJSR (aka “the Pawling Scout Cabin”) is a nonprofit organization, established in 1955. Our cabin is an incredibly unique space for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts to hold their meetings free of charge while they build character, foster confidence, and learn essential life skills through outdoor adventure and community service. Scouts from Pawling and Dover utilize the cabin, including our 18.5 acres of wooded trails, clearings, and wetlands, year-round.

We’d like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s spaghetti dinner fundraiser a success. For weeks leading up to the event, many of you purchased sponsorships and donated your services so that we could raise funds for our cabin’s future. We are beyond grateful for your generosity, community spirit, and belief in what we do. Thank you for helping us make a difference!
